Diabetes mellitus is a serious medical and social problem of the XXI century. The importance of the problem of the incidence of diabetes mellitus in the world is emphasized by the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2006 of the declaration on diabetes mellitus, which expresses concern about the increase in the incidence of diabetes mellitus in the world - a non-communicable disease that has the character of an epidemic.
