GrSMU Library at present

The Library is the main University unit that provides information support to educational, research, humanitarian and educational activities of the University, as well as to practical health workers in Grodno and Grodno region.

The Library is equipped with computers and communication facilities, and has free access to the Internet.

All computers are united into a local library network, which is an integral part of the university network. The Library uses a complex multi-level multi-module system IRBIS64+ that provides the automation of all technological processes.

More than 6 thousand users use the Library services. They are students, graduates, Ph.D. candidates, lecturers and staff of the university, advanced training faculty students, practical health professionals.

The Library has an extensive collection of domestic and foreign publications on traditional and electronic media on the profile of educational and scientific programs of GrSMU. It also has a developed reference and search engine, databases and other types of information resources.

The Library collections hold more than 460,000 copies. Annually they are replenished with 10-12 thousand copies. The Library collections include literature on all branches of medicine, biology, related fields, fiction, dissertations and dissertation abstracts, periodicals, information-bibliographic and reference publications, literature in foreign languages. There are also rare editions of the 19th century.

The Library has created good conditions for working with electronic educational resources. The Computer Room and Study Rooms offer free Wi-Fi. The Computer Room provides an opportunity to work with databases, Internet resources, the Library electronic catalog, CD collections, electronic versions of some educational and methodological materials, testing programs for students.

Due to the annual subscription the Library provides access to high-quality foreign full-text and abstract electronic resources. Lecturers and students can use the Cochrane Library, electronic collections of medical books and journals from Springer Link, Oxford University Press, ‘Medicine & Nursing Collection’ from Wiley, The New England Journal of Medicine, The British Medical Journal, SCOPUS abstract database, EBSCO platform (11 databases) and such.

The Library creates its own information resources: the electronic catalog is available from any computer on the Internet at: https://inlnk.ru/YAndQz. . An integral part of the electronic catalog is the Full-text database of study guides and manuals published by the University (electronic library), access to which is carried out through authorization on the Library website.

The Library creates the Repository of GrSMU – an open electronic archive of scientific, educational and other documents published at the University or created by university employees.
