With medicine and literature being his true passions, Hesara Punchihewa, a 6th year student of the Medical Faculty for International Students, has an ambitious goal of pursuing two different careers.

Hesara has always been a keen reader and at some point decided to write a novel of his own. Now he has two, and both of them explore important social issues.

The first one, A Lie of a Life, was published in Sri-Lanka in 2020 and focuses on the complexities of identity and mental health.

The second novel, Playing the Devil’s Hand, was published 4 years later and examines the problem of cultural differences.

The young writer donated one copy of A Lie of a Life to the Library.

The Library staff members wish Hesara Punchihewa every success in the future!
