The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus forms the basis for the country’s legislative system. It has the supreme legal force, determines the structure of the government, establishes the principles of the electoral system, regulates the formation of government agencies, and sets out the rights and duties of citizens.

Today, the government functions on the basis of the Constitution. The President issues edicts and decrees, the Parliament adopts laws, the Government adopts resolutions, and the local Councils of Deputies – decisions.

The importance of the Constitution for the life of the country and society is enormous. And it is especially important that the principles and norms of the Constitution are valid and respected, and laws and other legal acts adopted on constitutional issues strictly comply with its content.

To commemorate this date, the Scientific Literature Department has organized a book exhibition.
