Dear colleagues, library users, and all book lovers! Please accept our sincerest congratulations on Belarusian Libraries Day!
Today is not only a wonderful celebration of knowledge and intellect, but also an important event for all those who appreciate the book: its creators, keepers and readers.
Library Day was established in 2001 by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The date for this holiday was not chosen by chance: it was on this day in 1922 that the main book depository of the country – the National Library – was founded.
No matter how rapidly computer technologies develop, Library Day will never lose its significance: we will always use the book as a means of dialogue, a carrier of knowledge, an expression of values, a keeper of intangible heritage.
Libraries unite people of different generations, worldviews and cultures, and the books they contain are the best helpers in our common efforts to protect and enrich the cultural heritage of mankind.
We wish the staff of GrSMU Library and our colleagues good health, joy, professional growth, satisfaction with the results of the work done! Together we will make big bold plans happen.
We also wish all the best to our library readers, users of electronic resources and book lovers! We sincerely wish you, Readers, bright thoughts and interesting encounters with exciting novels, insightful stories, beautiful poems and necessary scientific publications.
We know that any path of obtaining and transferring knowledge, making discoveries and being creative is hard and thorny, but many problems can be solved by talking to a nice person or reading the right book. That is why we are always glad to see you in our Library and will always try to help increase your creativity!
