Chained Books

Have you heard of chained libraries and that earlier, before the invention of printing, books in libraries were chained to shelves? Did you know that some of these libraries have survived to the present day and are even open to the public?

The idea of chaining books seems ridiculous and absurd nowadays, but in the past the value of each book was so great that its safety was put above all.
